Has anyone every had a tranny(3rd gen or non)
lock-up in reverse? I was backing out of my yard yesterday and the car just stopped. I had to gun the motor and then the car "broke loose" and drove in reverse again. Since then it will sometimes accelerate real sluggish then lurch forward and chirp the tires.

Any strange noises? Perhaps the geartrain is coming apart?

 

No strange noises that I can hear. I took it to a trusted mechanic that has a lot of experience with these trannys and he never heard of something like this.
of course it didn't do anything wrong when he drove it!
