Posi spider gears HELP
I was replacing my axles due to one was bent. After I slid the new axles in I turned the flange to move the carrier into position to install the c-clips then I noticed the spider gears have moved out out of alignment for the crosspin.
Its a 4th gen rear with the auburn style posi. How do line it all back up without pulling the carrier out or making things pop out that shoulden't.

Re: Posi spider gears HELP
Get the differential in position so that you can work inside it and put the transmission in park. This will keep it from turning. Then turn the axle in the direction that you want the gears to move and line them up. You shouldn't have much trouble with the Auburn. The early Eaton was a real pain because the thrust washers would fall out and it was a little hard to get them back in.

Thanks!! that was sort of what I was going to try but I just wanted to sure that there wasnt anything else that could have moved inside the posi that was going to give me an issue. Because it looks like the gear is against one of the plates.
I have had nothing but problems since I started with this rear. If I have one more Im about to just buy a 12 bolt or 9 inch from spohn.

What you said worked like a champ. Was able to put back together in a couple of hours and back on the road. Thanks again.
