I need just a 100$ 700r4 to get my camaro moving, it is a 1992 rs305 tbi I just need to know what 700r4s will fit and from what cars, I dont care if it is not aggressive I just want to get my car moving lol as cheep as possible so any advise would be appreciated thanks. need replies asap

 

I'd say 88+ camaro/firebird to make it easy. I'm in the same boat so I've also looked for 2wd trucks, vans, and caprices in the same era.

 

thats what i thought too i mean there all 700r4s but i want to make sure ic an just bolt in and drive, its not like i need th trani for long im scrapping the 305 and the 700r4 for the lt1 and 4l60e once rebuilt maybe even eventually go to a t5

 

it needs to have the mounting locations for a torque arm.
i dont know if all of them do, but i am pretty sure that its tailshaft specific.
get it from a thirdgen.

 

As long as it's a 2 wheel drive version with the big bellhousing it'll work.

I assume you removed a trans from the car so you can swap tail housings onto units from other cars and trucks.

The 4.3L V6 trucks use a higher stall converter that'll make the car more fun while your getting the LT/60E swap ready. That converter can be used in early 60E's too but I forget the change over year (proabably 98-99)

Even if it's just temporary stay away from the early 700's. 85 and older I think as they have a lot of issues.

The plug for the trans is the same but the pinout is different between different modles but usualy all you'll lose is TCC lockup so it's not a huge deal for a short period.
