okay here is the deal.it takes off fine and shifts from first to second great but it never shifts to third gear.it stays in 2nd.and if i let of the gas and then put back on the gas it will just rev to like 2,200 rpms before it will accelerate. what could be wrong? tv cable? low on tranny fluid? bands,govener, valves? should i pour in some tranny cleaner fluid? please help.

The reason it won't go into 3rd is the tranny needs a rebuild. I am guessing the clutch pack is fried. The reason is revs before going is possibly becasue the Torque converter is gone? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Skip the cleaner in a can stuff. Does the 1-2 shift get later with throttle? If not then there is a throttle valve problem, which with the TransGo kit would probably mean that something is seriously coming apart to stick that new valve. Try having someone put it in Reverse while you pull the TV cable and release it a few times.

If it does get later with throttle but it neutrals when it should go to 3rd, the 3-4's are gone. If it just stays in 2nd then the 2-3 shift valve is stuck.
