T5 upgraded race case/housing

The tailshaft bushing in my World Class T5 is starting to go south for the winter and I figured that it is as good a time as any to start looking for upgrades. Anyay, the G Force T5 seems to be an OK choice for a bolt in replacement that can handle a little bit more power, but after doing some searching I am getting a little worried. Seems to me like the actual case.housing is the problem. Guess it tends to flex and tweak alot and misalign gears. Well this is not good at all! I don't want to spend upwards of $1800 to get my transmission redone only to have it puke gears again cause I looked at the gas pedal too hard and the case deflected. Is there anyway to make the case stronger? Are there any companies that offer a sturdier, torque friendly version of this case? I really don't have the time or want to swap in a T56 or TKO Tremec transmission. So, is there anything out there?

Re: T5 upgraded race case/housing

Yes, it is a commonly heald belief that main case flex in a T5 is the cause of gear failure. G-Force originally got around this with their super strong gearsets. The case would deflect like always, but the gears were made from a strong enough material that they would not break even when misaligned. While this may sound like a bandaid fix this is exactly the same way that GM made the M22 4-speed into a legend for strength (not an entirely deserved reputation I might add).

A few years back G-Force started making new main cases that were stronger than the stock T5 main case. They have them for sale for around $250 I think. This will solve the case flex problem, and coupled with their gears and mainshaft will make for a trans that is every bit as strong as a Tremec or T56.

Re: T5 upgraded race case/housing

Really, well that's some good news right there! I don't have a problem spending alot of money to go mack daddy ***** to the wall component wise, but having to do it 3 or 4 times isn't easy on the wallet. Looks like I will be contacting G Force here pretty soon as see what they can do for me. Thanks for the reply by the way...
