I just had gears installed and also had a posi unit added. I won't get the car back until Monday though. My question is will the posi help me with traction off the line. How will it handle in rain and snow compared to my stock rear.

Depends on what kind of posi you have. Assuming it's a clutch type limited slip you may notice the car sliding the rear out around slippery corners and sharp turns usually if you're going too fast for that situation.
