I'm looking around to find out the specs for my 10 bolt drum brake rear end. does it have 26 or 28 spline axles, and are they different from drum to disc brakes? what needs to be changed to change from a drum to disc? thanks

Search through the archive.
Your 89 should still have 26 spline axles. It was a changeover year so the only way to know for sure is to pull an axle. 28 spline axles didn't become standard until 90.
Changing from drum to disk requires more than just a simple swap. The discussion has been brought up many times and it's best to just search through the archives.
