B&M Shift Kit or a Transgo??
Which is the better kit? I can get a B&M Shift Kit for my TH-700R tranny for $60.00 (PN 70239)... doesn't look like a hard install either.

Most people say B&M kits are junk. Get the Transgo Reprogramming kit.

I was about to yell "$60, are you nuts?!", but then I noticed you're from Canada, I forget about the price difference. (Summit Racing sells that 70239 kit for $30 US.)
I have the B&M #70239 in my trans, it's alright, but too many guys in-the-know don't like it. I wish I knew that a few years ago- I would've spent the extra for the TransGo reprogramming kit.
But it was a simple install; messy & "scary", but overall, simple.

hey northern sells shift kits and i was wondering if theyre the same. it says, Shift Improver kits: Trans Go No Yo Yo Fixes the problem that causes Transmission failure.
are these the transgo kits everyone talks about? for the 87 up 700r-4 its pn K61908J price: $19.99 or **K61908 This Kit Contains: Servo, Accumulator, Governor and Valve Body Parts and fits same application as K61908J price: $36.99
This seems awful cheap compared to 130 in summit. anyone have experience with these? sounds like a deal no matter what.

That sounds like the full Shift Kit and the Shift Kit Jr., for later cars that don't have the shift timing problems that the earlier 700's had. Be advised that these are true Shift Kit's and therefore are not going to give you excessively firm shifts, just fixes the weaknesses in them. Also be advised that these ones are intended for professional instalation so buy a manual to go along with them. The more expensive kit is the Reprogramming Kit which is more performance oriented but still fixes the weak points. try this: http://www.hptransparts.com/MM007.ASP?pageno=89

well they got em listed for all 700's, powerglides, 4L80E, TH400,TH200C, TH200R4, TH350/350C, 4L60E, all of em for under $40. all the 700's are $19.99, the 350 200 and 400 are $15.
so you think the $36 kit and a .500 boost valve do good?

I checked that Webpage and it says its a Transgo Reprogramming Kit...
TransGo Reprogramming Kit 700-R4 1982-91
#HP98357 Performance Stick shift or automatic kit 700-2&3
Combo High performance or Competition for racing.
Higher shift points, higher pressures, hard, quick shifts.
This one goes for $81.00...
What do you think of this kit and this part??
High Performance Boost Valve 700-R4 & 200-R4
#HP35333A TV Boost Valve .500" Install this new Valve & sleeve for an instant increase in TV line pressure!
The total would come to $90.00 US...I could handle that if this is a real deal Transgo.
I am going to be doing a Trans Fluid/Filter change soon and seeing I will have the cover off I may as well put in a kit.
Can someone in the "know" let me "know"?

That is the TransGo Reprogramming Kit. I don't think I would go with the .500" Boost Valve though. For a small block they recommend .422", which you probably have and a big block gets the .477".
I carry the Trans-Go 700-2-3 Performance Shift kit $78.00, .471 or .500 main boost valve $10.00, .296 intermediate/reverse boost valve $15.00, Corvette servo with the new updated Viton seals $22.00, and anything else you might need for this unit. Call me if I can be of help at 800 7763288 Mon-Sat 10-6 PST.
