Full throttle shift problem....

Had a Corvette servo put in, and after some initial problems, we got it ironed out...Shifts nice, and hard even help the 2-3 shift...Anyway, now at full throtle the tranny will not upshift from 1 to 2 till about 7000 RPM, needless to say my little 305 is screaming by then...Before it shifted around 6000, not sure what difference the servo would make on shift RPM, but we made no other changes.....89 700R4 with B and M shift kit, Corvette servo, no other mods...Any ideas guys???? Thanks for any help, or suggestions....Tom Shaw

re: Full throttle shift problem....

late shifts can be caused by the following: changing axle ratio and/or rear tire size, misadjusted TV cable, increase in line pressure at wot, usually caused by shift kits, missing/damaged seal in the servo, issue with the 1-2 accumulator circuit, and changes to the governor.
I had my '91 LO3 to 6200 a few times, but you're gonna kill engine parts if you keep taking stock parts to 7000.

Yeah it is not a good thing, I know.....Guess I will have to have someone change the weights in order to get it to shift sooner...It is just fine at regular cruising speeds, but at full throotle it just does not want to shift any earlier..I have to let off the gas a little to make it shift before about 7000 RPM....Sure is not good for racing this way....

Yep take to the trans shop and get it adjusted before you break something.
