84 6cyl 5speed vs. 92 5speed V8??

Is there a big difference?? I see that gearing for the 6cyl is alot lower would I benefeit anything from a 6cyl or would my 92 305 just crush it to peices>? I can get the 6cyl tranny for cheap... just thinking about a spare...

Nah, you won't crush it with anything near a stock V8. The problem is though, to make it work, you'll need to modify a clutch. The V6 tranny has a smaller clutch and different number of splines on the input shaft than the V8 tranny does. I'd say it's not worth the trouble, unless your trans is giving you problems and needs to be replaced anyways. Then it might be a decent cheap replacement. But when a 5 speed needs replacing, its a perfect time to go for a 6sp!
