I can only pull the shifter to the left to go into 1st and 2nd. I can go into 3rd and 4th also but the shifter will not go to the right. it just feels like it is not suppose to go over there. what can this be. It is a t56 i bought used. are they easy to rebuild or take apart

 

Sounds like the shift rails were not centered to neutral before the shifter was put in. Does the engine act like the trans
is in two gears at the same time when you let out the clutch?

 

I have not run the car yet with the new motor in it yet
