Centerforce 11" clutch ???'s

Will this fit? I have a 1977 350 in my Camaro and I bought a T5 setup out of a 1984 Camaro and Summit has the Centerforce clutch for $256.95. Part # CTF-DF148552. Thinking about getting it, but I hear people say I have to have a 10.5" clutch. I would like to order this, this week. If it'll fit. And what size throwout bearing will I need? Thanks.
Also, how big do I need to make the hole in the floor pan for the shifter?

If you are using the stock bell housing and flywheel, the 11" clutch will not fit. You have to use the 10.4" clutch which CF also has available for about the same price. Just buy the CF kit for one of these cars (all years of V8 are the same), it will have the correct release bearing in it. It makes no difference to the clutch what year or displacement the engine is.

As far as the shifter, put the BH on the engine without the clutch; stab the trans in there; and use a long punch to mark the tunnel from underneath at the 4 corners of the shifter pad on the back of the trans. Make your hole no bigger than necesary, and get a universal boot from Hurst or Mr G.

Don't forget to put a pilot bearing in the crank before you install the trans.

What is Hurst's or Mr G's website? I need both boots. The one that goes on the shifter it self and the regular one. Can I also get a different plate for my console? I have a megashifter in there now and had to cut a bigger hole in mine. I'd like it to look somewhat nice. Thanks.

If you want it to look right, you'll need to get a stick-shift console top... it's way diferent from an automatic console, and it will have the leather interior boot. The other one is a rubber thing that will go on the tunnel inside the console and seal up the hole from the outside world, you'll never see it.

Sorry RB, but we have to disagree here. I *HAVE* the McLeod 10.94" (11") clutch in my car. Its a special racing clutch tho, as their normal T5 clutch is a 10.5" unit. I've sold several of these clutches to my local thirdgen friends, and they have all been very happy with them. McLeod is an AWESOME manufacturer and their clutches are top-notch. I have seen many Centerforce clutches and they are horrible. They take a stock disc and machine it for more holding power, while McLeod takes brand new components and makes a good quality piece.

My dad has known and been friends with Red and George, the owner and manager of McLeod, for over thirty years, since he used to race in NHRA Pro Stock in the 70's. They're good guys, and your money is well spent on a McLeod clutch.

How much for one? The racing one like you have. I went to the mcleod site, but it sucked and none of the links worked. I get paid Friday and want to order a clutch kit with everything I need. E-mail me if you want. bhaas@bigfoot.com Thanks.
