Need +500rpm from 4L60

I have a 93 Caprice 9C1 with the L05 TBI 350 and it currently upshifts 1-2 and 2-3 between 4600 and 4800rpm. These are pretty good shift points. WOT 3-4 is lower, around 4200 I think (~85mph with a 3.42 rear).

Anyway, I am about to buy an LT1 cam and I think I should adjust the tranny to shift about 500rpm higher than it is now. My hunch is that the TV cable will not make THAT much of a difference, and so I will need to attack the governor. Can anybody confirm this? How should I go about modifying the governor? Is there a factory replacement that shifts in the 5000-5200rpm range?
Otherwise, I can always manually upshift when I want to totally tap out the engine...

Thanks.

Try a lighter weight governor (V-6) this should get you the 5,400-5,600 rpm WOT shift points. Set the TV cable up as transfixleo says, that is the only way to get it right.

Those shift points seem a little high...I might just manual shift it. I can also dyno it and see if I am losing performance by upshifting too early.

Also, my TV cable is current adjusted to spec (i.e. the tighten it then floor the gas approach).
