So i finally finished getting my 355 with 700r4 that i bought from a guy with 10,000 miles on it and now i took it for its first test drive and the trans wont shift past first. I adjusted the tv cable i think, i pressed the button in, went to WOT and then released. It has 500 over stock stall converter, heavy duty clutchs, and aftermarket torque converter lockup swith. I disconnected my computer because my new engine is carbed and doesnt need it, could this be the cause of it not shifting?

Any help would be much appreciated.

disable that lockup switch, ensuring the converter can't lock, then drive it again and report back.
