Loud moaning from rear... u-joint? differential?

Hey everyone.

When I turn at low speeds, (at sharp angles) my rear end is making a loud moaning noise, which vibrates the entire car.

I was wondering, I just had the differential fluid changed out, and a posi additive added, and it still makes the same noise.

Is there a chance this might not be my differential? It seems so loud, im not sure if the differential could be making the noise. I read that sometimes faulty U-joints can cause vibrations and noise like this.

I was also wondering if it could be thr rear brakes, execpt for the fact that sometimes when i drive over bumpy terrain, i get the same noise.

If anyone has any clues, please post!

Thanks!

I'd check the bearings and definitely the u-joints along with the posi while you're down there. u-joints will sound like a moose when they're bad. Good luck..

Are you sure the posi additive was put in? Mine did the same thing after the fluid was changed. They didnt put the additive in, after I poured the additive in it worked fine.

Alright, Does anyone have a picture of where i could add this fluid too on my differential? Im sure there is a bolt somewhere or someway to pour this additive in.

I was charged for the additive, so i figured they added it.

Also, i noticed when i push the breaks lightly, and let the car roll forward a bit (on uneven roads) i can get it to moan. I would think it was the breaks, except that the sound happens sometimes when the breaks aren't being touched. I also dropped in to neutral and coasted, just to make sure the breaks wern't slowing me down, (they were not).

Thanks for help, and any more suggestions! I have tossed 3 grand into my car already in the past year, and shes still giving me problems. She is a very naughty girl!
