Muncie 4 speed casting #'s

How can I tell which Muncie transmission I'm looking at once I 've found one. Is there a casting number to identify M20 , M-21 or M-22 on the housing? Please advise as I am looking to purchase one soon, thanks.

If the transmission was made between 1969 and 1974, the last character of the serial number is an A for an M20, a B for an M21, and a C for an M22.
