Folks that have it, do you remember how much slip modifier you've gotta put in , 4oz, or 8oz.
Its been like two years since i put it in, and, installing new gears, and i can't remember how much to put in, one tube or two.
Also i can't remember the spec for backlash, is it like .009-.015, or so? I don't have a manual handy and can't remember for the life of me.
Thanks.

You can never have too much, usually 4 oz per quart of GENUINE GM friction modifier. Nothing else works right. I tried the cheap crap even 16oz of it, called auburn and they said they get at least three calls a week on that subject. Just thought I'd share that.

The instructions should tell you how much backlash to run. My richmonds had the spec etched into the side of the gear. It is usually .008"

.009" to .015" is good; with used gears I shoot for .010"-.012". I'd rather have a little too much (slight backlash) than too little (destruction). .008" like GMTech says is correct, for new gears. The gears get hot and expand when doing their job, so the clearance mostly goes away during driving anyway.

If you have more than .002-.003 variance in backlash, something is wrong. Somewhere around .008-.010 is probably good, but it depends on the gear set.
