Ok, preliminary information, 89 RS 305 automatic. Here's the problem, a week or so ago I noticed my transmission is acting strange, in overdrive around 65 70 miles an hour if I gun it my RPM's jump to 3000 then my transmission sounds horrible, like slipping or hitting something, and my car actually starts slowing down like I'm not on the pedal at all, and afterward I have horrible acceleration until I get where I'm going. In drive at at 2500 it hums really load like a roar behind me, and in OD at 2500 it sounds like something in front of me is rattling, so anyone have any idea what this is and what it warrents, I'm guessing a rebuild??

Off hand it sounds like the Input Sprag is barely holding on and has caused damage already to other parts.
