bw limited slip question

I have installed a borg warner limited slip rear end in my car. I still only seem to spin one tire most of the time. The other one will kick in but I dont know when or how often. I was told that this could simly be because they did not spin both wheels unless you put enough power to them. Is this true, or does something need fixed. Thanks for your help.

Ben

If both wheels don't spin with a posi carrier, then the carrier is toasted.

Currently installing 3.73's into my 9 bolt (YES, it is a 9 bolt & YES they are 3.73's, not 3.70. I currently have 4.10 gear sets and new series 3 carriers in stock for 9 bolts )

Well, try a big burnout and if you're not getting 2 stripes then you (like 88427Camaro says) got a carrier problem..

You can try this first, but like it says, if the cones have eaten into the ends of the cases, it's toast... Get a new one from him, or search for a used one. https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...tservice.shtml

Well that is expensive crap. I hope it is good, but if not that will give me a reason to buy a series 3 carier and gears. I had thought about doing that anyway but thought I would wait a while just because of the price. Thanks for your help.

I had a friend watch the tires as I held the brake and spun the tires. He said that they both spun but one stoped and the other kept going. The one that stoped started going again. I have a hard time even spinning my tires like this with my 126000 mile lg4 with 2.77 gears and 245s. So does this mean that it is good or bad or on its way out or what I really just dont know.
