700r4 torque converter problem

1 have a 400-450 horse 350 engine with a 700r4 trans. my problem is every time i put the car in gear it bucks shakes and stalls out. i was told the problem was the stall is too low. is this true? and if it is what do i need to fix the issue and after that can i lower my idle down to 750-800 rpm and be able to drive the car. now i have to double foot the car or put in neutral to drive the car any help would be appreciated thanks

Re: 700r4 torque converter problem

Almost sounds like the torque convertor clutch is applied full time. You should be able to disconnect the wiring to determine if that's the case. Just a thought.
