T5 swap-what to do with TC lockup?

In planning my T5 swap for early next year everything seems straight forward except for what to do with the Torque converter lockup. Is this something that is easily bypassed or will I be needing a chip for a manual car?

Just coil it up and zip tie it to something. You don't need a new computer. The auto ECM will run a T5 car fine. I only swapped the correct ECM later because it was a free direct swap and allowed me to have the shift light come on. There are small differences in the advance table and fuel tables between the two ECM's, but it will run fine. The computer still thinks it's locking up the TC, but sice there isn't one hooked up, nothing happens. There isn't a sensor for the ECM to check for TC lockup, so no worry about seting a code. Good luck, Lon.

Like Lon suggested, I would tie the plug up away from everything. BUT, I would DEFINATLY get the correct prom or memcal for your new transmission. The IAC movements and operations are WAY different. Trust me. I've been fooling with prom buring and have tried several things. You can drive it with an auto chip and it will run pretty well but it won't feel "right".

I can attest to the "not feel right" principle. The idle speed when pushing in the clutch was really strange. It seemed to hunt around for idle for a few seconds then drop to normal. I put the manual prom in because this was bugging me and it fixed it.
