strange sound when holding gear shifter.... help
ok, its a 92 RS 3.1 5spd
when i change gears. if i put pressure on the shifter in the direction of the shift.. like pull it too far back into fourth and hold it there... then let out on the clutch to keep goin it makes a growl, grind, type noise, but quits when clutch completely engages....
does this in all gears, but not all the time
what is the prob???

Well you're pushing on the shift forks more then necessary making the gears mesh harder with each other. Therefore you'll hear a louder whine. Mine does that too so I make sure that after I put in gear I dont push on the shifter any more then necessary
