I've been SHAFTED!!!

Is there a difference between drive shafts through the years of the 700R4 drive train? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

all th700r4 transmissions use the same driveshaft yoke, they are a 27 spline tailshaft. The input shaft is the only one that matters, and basically the older ones have 27 spline as opposed to the newer 30 spline ones. There are two input shafts, I'm not sure which one it is, but you'll know you have the newer type if you have a 27 and a 30 tooth, like mine did. I suppose the older ones have the smaller and the larger input shafts with 27 spline on both.

The splines you are talking about are on the input shaft of the tranny, have no effect on the driveshaft splines. All 700r4 driveshafts interchange.
