bent axles

i was just wondering if a stock 350 with a hard shift kit has the power to bend my axles. i recently purchased an 88gta from the original owner. who proceded to inform me not to punch it around corners because it will bend the axles????.also he had just replaced the pass side axel and said the other was bent ( a little) but not bad enough to fix just then......can this happen with street tires??? thanks

From my experiences, I doubt it. Unless he has some MASSIVE nitrous setup and uses it on the corners and is using slicks. The worst thing I could see happening would be the tires breaking loose.. on street tires anyways.

unless he put a spool in it, then no.

thanks for the reply. it does have a new posi, and that new axel on the pass side.
also the drivers side is makeing a noise
like the bearing is shot or something. not that the posi is anything like a spool but
if the tires dont break loose, than it does
hook REAL hard. o well i am new to this GM
stuff. i am used to playing with FWD. i put
3 grand into a 2.2l shelby charger. it ran
12.5 @ 125mph with 24lbs of boost, but i also
spun 3 rod bearings with only 5,000 miles
on the motor. so i figured i would give this
RWD drive thing a chance.....thanks again
