700R4 - T56 swap

I have a 1991 Trans Am with a 350 and the 700R4. I am looking to swap the auto for a 6 speed and I was just curious as to what has to be done to the computer in order for everything to work correctly.

The computer doesnt care what tranny is behind the engine. There is a tech article about this on this site.

I swapped my auto for a t-5 last yr and the computer light wouldnt go out. I even tried replacing the computer twice still no good. i think the code was for no torque converter. It didnt make the car run bad or anyting. Just remember to keep an eye on your car bc u wont know if anything is ever wrong bc the light will always be on.
