weak shifting....now very violent shirting

I thought my transmission was about to crap out on me the other day so i took it to the tranny shop to have them check it out. My problem was that my 1-2 shift was very sluggish and slow even at WOT. The tranny (700r4) is only about 10,000 miles old and the guy said that it is built very well (i know nothing about trannies so i trusted him). Anyway, he said that he wanted to check something with the servo. So i dropped the car off this morning and got it back this afternoon. when i got it back the 1-2 shift was very violent even at like 1/4 throttle and less. it jerks your head back in the seat. It feels great at WOT too. My only concern is that this "violent" shifting is gonna make a short like out of my tranny. Can someone shine any light on this subject for me. I appreciate it.
thanks

With a 'Bang' shift you run the risk of breaking the Sun Shell. Perhaps he swapped in a 'Vette Servo?
