Is this tranny truly rebuilt or not ??

I have an 85 IROC that I am restoring. The engine is being completely disassembled and rebuilt. However the tranny (700R4) is still a question. It has 140k on it , however the month before I bought the car (it sits in garage while being redone) the owner had the transmission worked on. Here is what the shop did.
1. Replaced flywheel
2. Replaced converter.

This doesnt sound like it is "rebuilt". I am afraid that the tranny will eventually fail once this is a daily driver.
Any feedback on the possible life is appreciated. It ran great when I drove it home but longterm is a question.
Should I just replace it or with a few improvements it continue on.
thanks

the flywheel and converter are by no means a rebuilt. the flywheel (or flexplate in your case) is part of the engine and the converter also bolts to the engine and part of the trans. the 700r4 is notorious for taking sh*ts constantly, first off i would check the fluid, if its a cherry red your good, if its orange or yellow is shot, if its black its TRASHED. ask him if they flushed the fluid when they did it (or ever) this is a very commonly item not taken care of, if it was not flushed recently or ever take it to a jiffy lube place and have it COMPLETLY flushed and filled. the trans is just like the engine, if you take care of it and change its oil will last a long time, but not check on it (VERY oftenly not check out) then it will crap out.

I checked on fluid and it is cherry red. On the receipts they charge for fluid and seals. I guess when I have the motored rebuilt I will make sure to get a good flush. It is getting a new converter (2k) and a trans-go shift kit. I guess I will roll the dice and see if the tranny makes it. Any other feedback would be great.
Thanks
