9-Bolt noise...

I did a search but I couldn't really find anything.

My 9-bolt makes a weird groaning/popping noise when turning. I didnt notice it for a long time because I just cant hear it over the engine or road noise. But sometimes I'll just kill the engine and throw it in neutral on the way to a parking spot and just let it roll, and I can hear it then.

The posi works well as far as I know. I can feel both tires grab whenever I get a bit of power-on oversteer, and both wheels spin when I do a burnout. I had fluid with no limited slip additive, then I added fluid WITh additive, and it didnt really seem to make a difference.

I ask because I dont want to dump $300+ into a gear swap for a 9-bolt if it's on the verge of grenading on me. I'm just not really sure whether this is maybe normal or what it is exactly. But the gears don't whine or anything. It's nothing like a whine, and i only notice it at really low speeds. It may do it at high speeds too, but even if I hold in the clutch and let the engine idle I cant hear it over the rest of the road noise.

I'd put some good additive in it. I like the Ford stuff. Get it from any dealer for $10 or so.
