only 2 and 4??? band adjustment?
replaced my governor over the weekend, now when i put my iroc in 1, it will move forward, but bog severely....when i shift to 2 it takes off in second. I have second gear 100%. At the top of second, it doesn't shift, but if i let off the gas, the rpms will drop down as though the car is in 4th gear (500-700rpms at 40ish mph). when i step on the gas, it's in second again. I probably haven't gone fast enough for 4th to lockup with the high speed convertor, so it seems as though i most likely have second and fourth. And every so often i have a really violent shift. Could this be a band that's way too tight or something? I was kind of winging it on the shims instead of spring adjustment deal with the transgo kit, because i didn't really understand what would be tight enough. It seemed as though it was loose enough, but i might have goofed. Maybe i'll stick the spring back in instead of shims and see what happens.
Does this sound feasible at all? I'm running out of stuff to adjust here.

You have to many shims installed, making the band drag (to tight).
With a dial indicator on the servo cover, you should be able to move it, and measure between .064-.125" Anything less and the band it to tight. I'm willing to bet that you can barely move the servo cover in at all.
How many shims did you install? The last TransGo kit I installed, I used two of the THIN shims to get in spec. (not saying thats what you should use, but just an idea)

actually, i think i had one thin, one thick if i remember.
i'll have to give the servo cover test a try, and adjust it. it has to be too tight the way the trans is acting.....no other explanation.
