Okay, i dont have enough money, as im only 17, to pay someone else to fix my tranny and it does need a rebuild. I have no problem finding rebuild kits but i also need detailed instructions to follow and i need to know what tools i will need and where i can get them. Thanks guys!

1. Do a search on this board, you'll find tons of info

2. Buy an ATSG repair manual from http://www.northernautoparts.com . It's the same info as found in the GM service manuals ( http://www.helminc.com ), but they have the "updates" section in the back detailing any new changes to the trans.

3. Buy the Haynes GM Transmission Overhaul manual from a local Pep Boys (or similar), or thru http://www.haynes.com - it has a picture by picture rebuild of the 700r4, and uses a minimum of special tools.

4. http://www.trannyman.com and http://www.spxkentmoore.com sell trans tools. You can find a dial indicator (and a stand, too) cheaply thru http://www.harborfreight.com , or check out http://www.ebay.com .
