BAM!! welcome to reverse

Well in the '76 ever since i owned the car when i went in to reverse sometimes it barely jerks other times it will jerk so bad you'll hear the tires chirp and the chassis shake. When you put it n drive it always gives a little tiny jerk forward but nothing at all like reverse. Please tell me shift kits aren't suppose to do this haha

Well right now the idle is too low in drive i'll have to fix that tomorrow, it is a turbo 350 tranny its been constantly serviced and in pretty good condition. I just find it odd that sometimes it won't even jerk in to reverse while other times it can be enough to give me whiplash, i don't know if it makes a difference but i don't have the stock shifter i'm using a Hurst Dual Gate I (not II) shifter

Correct the Idle speed and get back to us.

There are some problems with clutch apply timing on certain 350's. If you install the TransGo SK or Reprogramming Kit that sould be taken care of unless the internals are bad. You might have hard seals too causing erratic operation. If you have any other VB kit you are onyour own.
