84 rear end fit in my 88??

84 rear end fit in my 88??

Will a 84 transam rear end fit in my 88 without having to change to much.I will also have to go from drum to disk.The guy said its a dana 9 bolt.Anyone know anything about these rears.

Dana didn't make the 9-bolt, Borg-Warner did. And the first year of the 9-bolt was 85.

Apart from that, it will fit without changing anything, except the proportioning valve & master cylinder. Just make sure you get THE WHOLE THING: brake lines, parking brake cables and all.

Look it over closely before you buy it, mostly to make sure everything is there.

Oh i thought all i needed was a proportioning valve but if i need all that stuff i might just buy the richmond 3.73 ring and pinion gear for 200 bones instead of 200 for this rear end and still have to gte all that stuff.Thanks a lot for the info
