i cant swap a vette rear into my IROC??

ive been told i cant swap a posi rear from a 86-89 vette rear into my iroc?? im on a budget so a new rearend is out of the question so im thinking maybe a rearend out of a 4th gen camaro 3.42 gears? or a posi from a 86-90 camaro 3.23 gears? what do would be best???

Nope, you can't use a vette rear, they are totally different because the vettes have an independent rear suspension.

I have a broken differential and posi and am replacing it with an Eaton posi unit with Richmond 4.10 gears. It should take a fair amount of torque.

put in the forth gen with the 3.42 because irocs handle well with the 3.42

Actually rumors to be and going by checking it out myself a few yrs ago a vette rear from late 80's apears to seriously come close to fitting in our cars regardless of what u have been told :-) taking measurements and clearance issues they werent too many problems outside of how to locate the rear end in the car since the vette uses the monoleaf spring other than that it is a doable project....
Back in the day GM used to have a few birds/cams with IRS from vettes in them and was fairly close to making a bolt in kit from GMPP for that purpose , project was never brought to completion but yes it can be done without spending a forutne considerning u can get IRS vette rears from late 80's too early 90's for 400 800 if u poke around
later

with a 4th gen rear end and iroc rims, will the rear tires stick out farther than the wheel well?
