How can I tell my transmission (700R4) is slipping?...

From your responces, I believe I have broken transmission mounts. But when I slowly put push gas pedal, from a stop, I kind of hear, and kind of feel a type of slipping. It kind of revs a little higher, and the transmission takes a little longer to respond. But during that time, I almost feel like I could floor it and peel out (but I won't, I have broken mounts). It feels kind of like one of those higher stall converters. So how can I tell its slipping? Is slipping serious? Do the broken mounts make it slip?

Any advice, opinions, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

I'm not totally sure that a broken mount can make it slip, Check your transmisson fluid.. That would be your first and easy step to do, If it's low add some..If leaking and still happening.. Take to a Trans Place. Do something quick before you don't have that slipping gear at all.

A bad mount CAN in some cases lead you to believe that it is a slip since there can be a delay/clunk as the tranny/engine move before it actually moves the car. If the mount is bad then change it quick so that you can determine if the tranny is OK or not.

My 0.2 would be change the mount, check the fluid level then drive it and see. A little rev slowing down could be normal depending if your tc is locked up or not and how you are driving. Usually when a tranny is slipping you will fell it under acceleration. Also check your U-joints and gear oil in the rear end. All of these could cause the problem you describe.
Good Luck!
