Ok, well I finally got the transmission installed in the car a couple of days ago. It is a Monster Motorsports Mega Monster 700R4 that is built for 650HP. They are local to me here in FL, check them out at www.eatmyshift.com. Anyway, I had to get the TV cable adjusted because it had slow lazy shifts and the car felt like a pig. Needless to say after a couple of adjustments and road tests, the car feels much better but I noticed a few things...

1. In the OD position, when floored from a dead stop(aside from obliterating the tires lol!) the engine would only tach out to 5000-52000 RPM. My engine makes peak power at 5700 RPM and I would like it to shift at 6000 RPM for decent shift extension to keep me in the powerband while drag racing at WOT. Will tightening the TV cable more allow the engine to rev up more? I don't want to burn this trans up or anything, I just want to wring out every bit of potential from it.

2. Let's say that I am cruising at a steady speed. It doesn't matter which gear the transmision is currently in, if I go hard on the throttle, I would expect it to downshift to the appropriate gear but it doesn't. It stays in the current gear and the engine struggles a little bit until the RPM's get up enough to where the engine starts making more power. Is this also a TV cable/line pressure issue?

I mean, this engine is a 500HP motor, and in the old T5 tranny form it put down 420HP and 430TQ to the rear wheels. But with this automatic in here it doesn't feel as strong. Even with a shift kit, and a 3600 stall Yank converter, it isn't meeting my expectations of what it should feel like. Hell I have a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am with a Monster Motorsports 4L60E(yes same company as my mechanical 700R4) and a TCI Street Fighter 3000 stall converter with 2.73 gears and it feels like my T/A would wax my camaro's a$$ with a heck of alot less engine power and rear gear. What am I doing wrong?!
