bellhousing problems
bellhousing problems
ok well i'm in the process of putting a new clutch in my 88 iroc and i have all the bolts as far as i can tell out of the bellhousing, the three top ones and the two on each side and i cant get it to budge, are there any bolts that might i missed or something i might've skipped in removal that would keep it from coming free at all. this is the first clutch i've changed so i might have missed something.

Re: bellhousing problems
Well generally bellhousings usually guld themselves to the back of the motor becuase it aluminium. They also get stuck on the dowel pins.
Re: bellhousing problems
ok i was kind of thinking it was something like that i just didn't wanna go banging around on my aluminum bellhousing and it not be free from everything. so should i just place a board or something across the bottom of the bellhousing where the dust cover goes and try to knock it loose or is there a better way to go about it??

Re: bellhousing problems
Thats proly how i would go about it. As longs as you dont contact the bellhousing directly with a hammer i don't think it would hurt it.
