700r4 to t-10 swap
ok here is my latest thought i blew my 700r4 and 305 ot already got a 88 350 out of a van but i want a 4 speed manual. so what is the list of parts im goin to need, i want a 4 spd because its a cheaper trans and i had 5 spds in my thunderbird supercoupe and thunderbird turbo coupe and 5th was useless thanks

Parts will basically be the same as a T5, except you'll want an aftermarket bellhousing since the T10 won't be rotated.

An 83 or 84 fbody setup would probably be the simplest, but might be hard to find. If you stick with a hyd activated clutch fork like in the T5, you may have an easier time.
Many of the 5 and 6 speed units are overdrive transmissions.. Not sure what you mean by "useless"? If the engine isn't powerful enough, or the vehicle too heavy, you'll need alot of speed to use the overdrive gears. They are not meant to be used under power, but allow you to use more agressive gears in the rear, and still cruise on the highway at resonable RPMs.
