Well ive spent the past about 3 hrs trying to figure out what i need and i get to a point where i think i know exactly and than i see a post from someone who says you need a cross member.

I saw that someone said you need to get a xmember when going from a 200c-th350. Is that true and if so can someone post where i can buy one from.

My car is a 82 S/E firebird and i SWEAR THIS IS THE LAST QUESTION I WILL ASK IF ANSWERED. Any reply is very well appreciated since i want to get this car running before it starts snowing.

 

going from th200c to th350,you can reuse your original
crossmember as well as the torque arm and driveshaft
-just get a B&M(or other) torque arm adaptor and swap
will be almost a bolt in,depending on the year of the
th 350,the speedo threads might be different(pretty
sure '78 up is same as 3rd gen),also on the'80 z28
tranny i used i had to use a conduit bender to slightly
bend the tranny dipstick tube. Did my swap back in
1993,so may have forgotton some minor details...
In 1995,decided i wanted overdrive so i swapped in a
700r4 from an'85 caprice,that swap wasn't any
harder to do than the th 350,but required a lot more
parts. Also,most '81-86 th 350 are"c"versions,so you
can plug in the same,if you use a non-lockup 350,
just tape up the plug and leave off.
