Hurst Dual Gate Question
Hurst Dual Gate Question
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Last summer I purchased a Hurst Dual Gate 2 shifter for my 88 IROC. These particular shifters are very sought after but have not been available new for several years. I bought a very nice used one. The shifter was installed by a mechanic.
There is an issue with the shifter or cable that I am going to have to resolve. When the cable is adjusted so that I have PARK, the shifter will not go into LOW 1. When the cable was adjusted so that the shifter went into LOW 1, I lost PARK.
Any thoughts or similar experiences? Thanks

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Question
well if this helps i took mine apart and took the die grinder to it lol.
on the very bottom of the shifter there is a bracket that hits of bottoms out on. i just grinned it out a little more. i should have took pictures of it lol.
also make sure you have a little slack in the cable so you dont cross gears(make sure it always falls in to place). thats why i did that to mine, i dident want to destroy a brand new $1800 tranny for a little screw up like that.
over all there a nice shifter but if a would do it all over again i would leave the stock one in and just put a shifter **** on it
hope this helps, if u got any ore questions pm me.
