what stall for a stock 400 sbc
I was wondering if anyone knew what a close guess to where the torque curve starts on a 400 with small cam. Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks

First off, small to you and small to others might be different. If it is in the low 220s @.050 i would say a 2000 would work but a 2500 would make you happy. This is what mos might consider small for a cam.

I dont know the exact specs but im guessing its close to stock. Do you think a 2400 would be good. it wouldn't effect regular driving much would it.

No, not really, the 86 TA i have is a sinlg pattern 230 duration @.050, works well with the 2600-2800 Ebay stall i have. Foot brakes to 2000 with skinny 245 tires. But doesnt slip a bunch taking off, only when you nail it does it flash and break the tires loose.
