Car: 1991 Camaro Z28
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: T-5
Axle/Gears: LS1 3.23
drums to disc
I currently have rear drum brakes and I just bought a disc brake rear end from a 91 camaro. What do I need to buy to make this thing working properly? I never done anything like this before. Or should I buy a fourth gen rear end (but I heard it's wider) but will the installation be the same effort as the third gen rear end? Thanks and all input will be appreciated.

what all did you get with the rear?
it will all bolt right in. You will need the brake hard lines and the flex lines if they didnt come with your rear, and parking brake cables. Ideally you want to swap out the proportioning valve under the master cylinder as well to get the brake bias closer to the proper setting.
a 4th gen rear is the same as a 3rd gen rear but its wider. They do however have better,larger, disc brakes and some have pretty good posi units. You will have to buy custom e-brake cables, or swap the entire parking brake setup over.

It just came with the disc and calipers. But how much wider is the fourth gen rear end? I don't want my tires to stuck out too much.

stock tires will sit flush with the oputside of the car, the rear is something like 3.8" wider overall? The lt1 and ls1 year rears are different widths. but just marginally
IMHO, if you use a 4th gen rear, use wheels with a 4th gen offset. The 3rd gen ones dont looks right.
Im sure Stephen will post his typical pics and say its looks fine...
