200C Transmission Problem
200C Transmission Problem
I have a 1982 Recaro TA with 32K miles.When i got it it had a problem with the lockup not releasing.
My mechanic seemed to think the torque converter was faulty.
I did some research and purchased a shift kit that said it fixed this problem.To be safe we also had the converter rebuilt.
Well it still is playing up and im pretty pissed off.
The problem we have now is that while at speed if you accelerate to over take the lockup will not release so a manual shift to 2nd is the only way to get the lockup to release.
The second problem is while going slow the lockup will not release until the car is below 12MPH.
Does anyone have any ideas please???
Im in NZ so going to a wrecker for another one is not going to work.

The solution I used for my th200c was a garbage heap and in with a 700r4 and never look back.
