OK, I got a 700r off a friend and he told me that it wouldn't shift out of second. He thought it was something to do with the wiring but from what I understand it does not use any wiring to shift? true or false?

 

If it has first and second only, then this is the 3-4 clutch pack that is gone. This is very common on these, and has nothing to do with the wiring. The wiring has to do with torque converter lockup only.

 

mine did it too. i just swapped a T5 in there and called it a day.

 

well it looks like I got dooped lol. hmmmmm t5 swap? is that not a manual?

 

I realy need some good advice from a trany guy do to the fact that it looks like I am gonna have to sew the person I got this trany from for repairs. I have found that this is a common problem with these tranys I just need proof for ammo ya know. This has turned into a complete mess. from my understandings the people that I got it from were messing with the tv cable ( they thought it was a kick down) and they thought was a electronic shift trans. it shifts from 1st to 2nd but no 3rd or 4th. From my understandings its the clutches that need to be replaced which means a rebuild. I hate it when people do this kinda crap and try and screw someone.
