Rear Axle swap
Rear Axle swap
I have a 91 RS and just finished swapping my 305 for a 350. Now I would like/need to change my 2:73 rear end for a 3.:73 posi, drum to drum. Anyone know if, other then 3rd and 4th gen camaros if other models such as Monte Carolo, or S10 would be a direct replacement? I am having a hard time finding one out of a Camaro but have seen a few for Monte Carlo's and S-10's.

Re: Rear Axle swap
But the 4th gen axle is wider (about 1.5') & may cause brake &/or wheel fitment issues.

Re: Rear Axle swap
You may want to buy a separate posi (Auburn or whatever) and a set of new gears, Richmond.

I know that fortes parts sells 12 bolt rear ends for our cars. Call him (mike forte) at 508-875-0016. He sells a lot of thirdgen stuff.
