My 700-R4 transmission crapped out a while ago so I had a remanufactured one installed. The car is an 86 Trans Am w/ 305 tpi. The shop can't find the correct electronic speed sensor that fits the car. They are telling me that all of the ones that are supposed to fit an 86 model won't fit this transmission and they've tried them all. I took them an extra one from a 92 Trans Am that I had and it physically fits (different wire connector though) but I need one that works with the earlier TPI computer and the 90-92 sensors use a different signal. We changed the driven gear and got the speedometer to read correctly with it but the odometer won't work at all. Any ideas? They're at a complete loss and I need this fixed.
