I HAVE AN 85 TRANS AM THAT I JUST PULLED THE MOTOR AND TRANNY OUT OF305 AND 700 R4...I PURCHASED A 355 AND A FRESHLY REBUILT 700R4. THE NEW TRANNY CAME WITH A RIGGED WIREING HARNESS, TWO WIRES ARE WIRED TOGETHER AND ONE IS SUPPOSED TO GO TO THE BREAK SWITCH, ACCORDING TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THE OLD TRANNY DID NOT HAVE ANY WIRES GOING TO THE PLUG WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? CAN ANY ONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHY?

 

Take the pans off and move all the wiring and switches from the old valvebody to the same locations on the new one.

Then you'll know that no matter what was done to the wiring in your new transmission, it'll be exactly the same as the old one and will work with your factory wiring.

 

what im sayin is that there is no factory wiring for the car

 

You haven't got a 4 pin plug tucked up away somewhere? Is the engine stock?

 

nope no pin. and i dont know if the old one was stock or not
