Engine: 396 Stroker 625hp
Transmission: 700r4 3000 stall
How to check if a TH400 is good out of the car?
I found a built turbo 400 to put in my Iroc, but it is out of the car and I want to make sure its good before I buy it. The guy who has it claims he made one pass on it then blew up the motor because water leaked through the intake into the cylinders.
The tranny has a cheata reverse manual valve body, hd clutches, race built, 3500 stall 10" converter.
The tranny is out of the car, is there anything special I can check to make sure its good?

there are some shops that have a setup where they can test it ... you would have to call around your area and see if you can find one locally... checking the fluid can only tell you so much...
