Auto trans question

Evening, ok I have been researching and reading and need some input. I have the 700R4 in my car right now. With swapping out the engine for a more powerful one in the not to distant future has anyone had any luck with beefing up their 700R4? Is the 4L60 or 200R any better? I do like manual trans. and am not opposed to installing one, but I like an auto for this application better. Thank you for the help.

Re: Auto trans question

200r4 and 4L60 dont have that big jump between 1st and 2nd gear. Ive seen 700r4's hold up to 500 HP in daily drivers with a good performance rebuild and oil coolers. 4L60 hold up pretty good in High output motors. not too much exp with the 200r4

Re: Auto trans question

I have been looking at some good kits for the 700r4 that I think should do the trick then. Unless the 4L60 is that much better to start with, then I will go find a good core to rebuild. Thanks for the help!
