700r4 Rebuild Advice
Hey, everyone, well today it looks as if my transmission is toast. Halfway to work the car revved up really high and had no power. When I got it towed somewhere to have it looked at, the tranny fluid was pouring out and they think its probably a seal somewhere. Thing is, since the tranny has to come out I might as well rebuilt it as it's probably not good anymore or won't be for very long as I don't think it's ever been rebuilt. Anyway I know nothing about transmissions and I plan to stick with the 700r4 but I am wondering what are some things I should do/can to help beef it up a bit so it can withstand some horsepower in the future. Right now the car is mainly stock but I would like it to be able to withstand at least 400 HP so it future proof. The car is my summer driver and sometimes odd drag race but other than that its mainly just a street car. Any advice would be appreciated thanks. Josh

Re: 700r4 Rebuild Advice
Once I rebuild my trans I'm putting Raptor parts in it. I wanta say the most a 700r can handle is about 700HP even with the very best parts.
I love shift kits, and if you are the same like me put really good parts in it so it don't break when you bang gears.
