Torque converter does not lock
Just brought home my newest toy...an '86 TA LB9 with only 30k miles. Took it for a ride...the TC never locks up. Tapping the gas pedal when going down the road when its warm allows me to freely increase the revs. Isn't there a torque converter switch or something that controls this? Where is it? How hard is it to replace? I appreciate anyone's help...I can't imagine a 30k mile 700R4 has a bad torque converter, no matter how bad of a rep a 700R has!
